CHICAGO  SISTER  CITIES  INTERNATIONAL  CUP  CLUBS  TO  PARTICIPATE  in  COMMUNITY  SOCCER  CLINIC

Chicago Fire, Legia Warsaw, Paris Saint-Germain and Red Star Belgrade Players to Partake in Community Event on May 20

CHICAGO, IL (May 17, 2010) The Chicago Fire Soccer Club will hold a Community Soccer Clinic at Lincoln Park Turf Field on Thursday, May 20 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM CT.  Fire players Steven Kinney, Krzysztof Krol, Justin Mapp, Peter Lowry and Dasan Robinson and players from Sister Cities International Cup teams – Paris Saint-Germain, Legia Warsaw and Red Star Belgrade – will be participating in the event.

The clinic is open to children within the Chicago community, ages 7-14.  The clinic is designed to instruct young athletes on the technical elements of soccer, while educating them on physical fitness, health, and wellness.

 Who:                     Chicago Fire players Steven Kinney, Krzysztof Krol, Justin Mapp, Peter Lowry and Dasan Robinson, in addition to players from Paris Saint-Germain, Legia Warsaw and Red Star Belgrade; and Fire mascot, Sparky

When:                   Thursday, May 20 4:00 – 6:00 PM CT

Where:                  Lincoln Park Turf Field – North Ave/La Salle St. Exit & Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60614

What:                    The Chicago Fire Soccer Club in conjunction with the Chicago Sister Cities International Cup will be offering a FREE soccer clinic for children ages 7-14. Participants of the Sister Cities Community Soccer Clinic will receive skills, clinic featuring soccer drills, technique instruction, and mini-games as well as exclusive Q&A and autograph session with Chicago Fire, Paris Saint-Germain, Legia Warsaw and Red Star Belgrade players; and a Chicago SCIC t-shirt. Space is limited to the first 50 participants.

The Fire and Chicago Sister Cities International have partnered to host the first-ever Chicago Sister Cities International Cup on Wednesday, May 19 and Saturday, May 22 at TOYOTA PARK. Joining the Fire for the two-day, four-team international tournament are Legia Warsaw of Warsaw, Poland, Paris Saint-Germain of Paris, France and Red Star Belgrade of Belgrade, Serbia.

Fans can purchase tickets through the Club’s official website at www.chicago-fire.com or by calling the Chicago Fire at 1-888-MLS-FIRE (657-3473). Tickets are also available via Ticketmaster.
