The man (or young lad if you’d rather), who many describe as the most sought after player on the plane currently, Alexis Sanchez, seems to be heading to Old Trafford with the Red devils turning out favorites to win his signature. If the reports from the Daily Mirror and several other sources are correct, then it  means that United may have successfully fended of interests from the likes of Barcelona, arc rivals Manchester City and ex-UEFA cup holders, Inter Milan.

The Chilean born forward seems to have his heart set in Old Trafford following his impressive twelve-month soccer campaign that culminated with the qualification of Chile into the knockout round of the world cup thanks to the forward and scoring a dozen goals in the Serie A at Udinese last season.

This, coupled with what many describe as terrific football skills have Sanchez in the cross hairs of almost every major club in Europe. However, Manchester United, who are now described to be leading the swiftly developing race to sign him up, may need to hold onto their hats a little longer. Last week, Barcelona appeared to be frontrunners, only for Manchester City to barge past them after holding talks prior to the Red Devils rally.

Sources claim that the Chilean forward has set his heart on a move to Old Trafford, with the star thought to have been so insistent that Udinese are considering letting him leave for around £27 mil, having previously, been fancied to hold out for £35 mil.

It would be a sensational scoup for the Red Devils to land Sanchez with competition to sign him so vast. It would also show that despite their second Champions League Final loss to Barcelona, they remain as serious contenders to win the trophy for a fourth time next season.
