I predicted at least 6 goals in 2 this Saturday and Monday. Well we got half the plan in RSL 2-1 win over Union and 4 goals on Monday in Sporting vs Galaxy battle.

My record in 2011 MLS season 124114 (accuracy 52.10 %).

My quick Preview, Picks and Prediction for midweek games and for weekend matches usually published here about 16-24 hours before the game.

Monday, September 5

Sporting Kansas City vs. Los Angeles Galaxy 2-2

Sporting lost for just the second time in their new stadium last weekend, a 3-2 defeat by FC Dallas. Both losses have come with the winning goal being scored in second-half stoppage time.

While the Galaxy had the weekend off thanks to Hurricane Irene, the visit to Kansas City kicks off a stretch of 24 days where the club will play eight matches, including trips to Costa Rica and Mexico in the CONCACAF Champions League.

With the weekend league match already postponed before kickoff, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena was able to play David Beckham and Omar Gonzalez in the Champions League match against LD Alajuelense of Costa Rica – and they combined on the opening goal in the 2-0 victory.

In the first meeting this season, Landon Donovan scored twice to lead the Galaxy to a 4-1 victory May 14 at The Home Depot Center.

This is one of the most difficult match to predict outcome. Everything can happen at Livestrong Sporting Park, but I gotta feeling that we will see more than 2 goals.

CHRIS’S PICK OVER means more than 2 goals
Saturday, September 3

Real Salt Lake vs. Philadelphia Union 2-1

Real concluded a three-game road swing with a 1-0 win at Chivas USA last weekend, stopping a two-game losing skid.

While the Union did not have a chance to put a stop to their five-game winless run over the weekend, they did play last week – a hard-fought 5-3 win in a friendly against USL PRO affiliate Harrisburg City Islanders on Wednesday, after trailing 2-0 at halftime.

Real will have influential midfielder Kyle Beckerman available for the match. Called into the U.S. national team, Beckerman will now miss Saturday’s friendly against Costa Rica, joining the U.S. for next week’s game in Belgium.

In the first meeting this season, Fabian Espindola’s second-half goal canceled out a Keon Daniel strike as the teams shared the points in a 1-1 draw, June 11 at PPL Park.

RSL will play without suspended Nat Borchers, they did OK after he was sent off early in their last game, but Union should be able to take advantage of it. Philadelphia will also miss his defensive commander Carlos Valdes suspended for yellow cards accumulation. When 2 decent teams missing their main defensive guys, anticipate some goals.

CHRIS’S PICK OVER 2 goals
