Graham Zusi scored twice as Sporting Kansas City booked their place in the Major League Soccer play-offs with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire on Friday.

Zusi’s first-time strike put Sporting ahead in the 11th minute and, moments after Chicago’s Gonzalo Segares had received a second yellow card in second-half stoppage time, made the points safe with a solo effort.

The win, Sporting’s first at home against Chicago in five years, put KC five points ahead of their opponents at the top of the Eastern Conference, though they have played a game more.
