U.S. WNT Wins Group B at 2013 Algarve Cup to Advance to Final


Alex Morgan scored a goal in the second half to give the U.S. Women’s National Team a 1-1 tie against Sweden and a berth in the 2013 Algarve Cup championship game. With the tie, USA advanced to its 10th Algarve Cup Final in the past 11 years and will face Group A champion Germany on March 13 with a kickoff and venue to be announced this evening. The U.S. Women’s National Team battled back from giving up an early goal to draw 1-1 with Sweden and win group B at the 2013 Algarve Cup. Alex Morgan provided the equalizer in the 56th minute from a Megan Rapinoe corner kick. The U.S. moves on to the title game on Wednesday, March 13 with kickoff still to be determined.
