MLS Wednesday Preview, Picks and Predictions

The last two games this Wednesday will start two weeks break from MLS action, until June 25 (only one game), but first full weekend of MLS soccer coming back on June 28.

On last Wednesday before the break Impact will host not as explosive but effective D.C. United, don’t expect too many goals there. Totally opposite to the second game in Portland, where Timbers hosting FC Dallas, and you know what’s coming when both attacking teams clashes in the game before their vacation.

Keep in mind I’m not even 40 % in my accuracy this season, but I have been their before. I’m not blaming my self for my predictions, but the players, and sometimes referees, most of the time is their fault.:)

However, despite poor start of the campaign, I’m confident trough the season, I should be able to get back to over 50%, but obvious goal is to cross 54% as earlier as possible.

Current Week 15 record 33 (accuracy 50.00 % )

Last Week 14 record 816 (accuracy 33.33 % )

2014 MLS Predictions record 108162 (accuracy 40.00 % )

Picks and predictions are usually published here at least 1-2 hours before the game time.

Montreal Impact vs. D.C. United 2-4

The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Second-half goals from Montréal’s Jack McInerney and United’s Eddie Johnson left the teams in a 1-1 draw May 17 at RFK Stadium.
The Impact have won both visits by United all-time to Québec, including a 2-1 triumph last Aug. 17 in the only encounter at Stade Saputo. United have never lost to the Impact at RFK Stadium.
The Impact return to league play after winning the Canadian Championship for a second consecutive year, taking the second leg of the final series 1-0 vs. Toronto FC, winning the title 2-1 on aggregate. The victory qualifies the Impact for the 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League.

United have recorded back-to-back shutouts for the second time this season following their scoreless draw with Columbus over the weekend.
D.C. United should of won their last game vs Crew, but in stoppage time, Fabian Espindola penalty, was one of the weirdest in MLS history, so goalkeeper save it easily.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Impact to WIN
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: UNDER 2.5 goals

Portland Timbers vs. FC Dallas 2-2

FC Dallas put an end to their eight-game winless streak on Saturday night, Fabian Castillo’s goal in the 62nd minute snapping a tie and giving his team a 3-2 win against the Colorado Rapids at Toyota Stadium.
Fanendo Adi scored his third and fourth goals in the last three games as the Timbers won for a third time in their last four matches, handing Real Salt Lake just their second defeat of the season in a 3-1 Portland win over the weekend.
The teams are meeting for the second time this season. A late Blas Perez goal gave FC Dallas a 2-1 victory, March 29 at Toyota Stadium.
The road team has never won in the series, in nine meetings all-time. The Timbers have won three of the four meetings all-time in Portland.

Fanendo Adi makes his new team Timbers on fire, and FC Dallas expected to score as well, we should have good show in Portland with home team celebrating victory.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Timbers to WIN
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: UNDER 2.5 goals

San Jose Earthquakes vs Sacramento FC 2-1

*US Open Cup match
The Earthquakes playing this game on neutral field on Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The are obvious favorites, and knowing that they might have problem making MLS playoffs this year, US Open Cup should be good enough motivation to get something positive this season.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Earthquakes to WIN
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: OVER 2.5 goals
