FC Dallas vs. Philadelphia Union Preview and Prediction

2014 U.S. Open Cup semifinals starting 22nd week of our MLS Predictions, and we’ll try to capitalize on them. On Tuesday evening in hot Texas, the red hot FC Dallas facing ambitious Philadelphia Union. In other semifinal, on Wednesday in Seattle, the Sounders facing Chicago Fire, and host team has high hopes to reach another U.S. Open Cup final.

The Sounders and FC Dallas are my favorites to win, and I’m also expecting high scoring game in Texas.

*Keep in mind I’m only around 42 % in my accuracy this season, but I have been there before. I’m not blaming my self for my predictions, but the players, and sometimes referees, most of the time is their fault.:)

However, despite poor start of the campaign, I’m confident trough the season, I should be able to get back to over 50%, but obvious goal is to cross 54% as earlier as possible.

Tuesday, August 12
FC DALLAS vs. PHILADELPHIA UNION, 9.00 PM
* U.S. Open Cup semifinal, not MLS game
Hot team in hot Texas, it should be hot game. In their last 12 matches including U.S. Open Cup and friendlies, FC Dallas scored 25 goals, and have lost only one game. The only loss happen to them, it was 0-2 in friendly match to English Premier League club Aston Villa, when head coach Oscar Pareja tested, and little over rotated the lineup a bit.
Philadelphia Union is nowhere close to Aston Villa, but lately they also became high scoring team, 26 goals in their last 13 games giving them brilliant average 2 goals per game.
Both teams will probably rotate the lineups, plus Union top offensive player Sebastien Le Toux is questionable for this match due to ankle injury, obtained in last Union match vs Montreal.
FULL MATCH PREVIEW by Nick Rosano

This might not be high scoring bonanza, but both teams should be able to find a way to the net at least 3 times.
The FC Dallas have more quality players, playing at home, and I’m confident they should be able to win in regulation.
