The Revolution extended their undefeated run to four games over the weekend, reaching a scoreless draw with Columbus Crew SC at Gillette Stadium, their second consecutive shutout.
Union goalkeeper John McCarthy was credited with the victory in his MLS debut, the 2-1 win against New York City FC on Saturday afternoon. McCarthy took the place of Algerian international Rais Mbohli and backstopped Union’s first win of 2015; a year ago he was USL PRO Goalkeeper of the Year with the Rochester Rhinos.
The road team won each of the last two league meetings between the clubs last season. The Revolution won 5-3 on May 17 at PPL Park; Union returned the favor with a 3-1 win at Gillette Stadium on June 28.
The teams also played a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal last season, Union with a 2-0 victory in Chester.

After netting the goal in the 2-1 loss at Philadelphia Union over the weekend, David Villa had been involved in each of the last three NYCFC goals (2 goals, 1 assist), and had a goal or an assist in three of NYCFC’s first four goals this season.
The Timbers suffered their first loss of the season at Providence Park on Sunday, a 2-0 loss to this year’s other expansion club, Orlando City SC.

Perry Kitchen scored the first two-goal game of his career, but D.C. United were still hauled back into a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. United have two wins and a draw since their only defeat of the season, at the Red Bulls on March 22.
The Dynamo exceeded their goal output for the entire season in one night, rolling to a 3-0 home win against the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening. The Dynamo had scored two goals total in their first five games; Giles Barnes’ opener in the Impact win was their first since March 21, and ended a 271-minute scoreless streak.
When United won 3-1 last Oct. 12 at BBVA Compass Stadium, it was their first victory in Houston in 12 meetings all time in league and cup play. The Dynamo had won 10 of the first 11 matchups there, with one draw.
United’s win last May 21 at RFK Stadium was their first against the Dynamo since the 2012 season. The Dynamo had won six of seven meetings in between, with one draw, including a victory and a tie in the 2012 Eastern Conference Championship.

The Crew return home off of a coast-to-coast road swing that saw them gain points in both matches, a 2-2 draw at Vancouver Whitecaps FC last Wednesday evening, and a scoreless draw at the New England Revolution on Saturday.
Kei Kamara scored a pair of goals for the seventh time in his MLS career in the midweek draw at Vancouver, his first two-goal game in the league since Aug. 10, 2013, for Sporting Kansas City vs. New England. Kamara has three goals in his return to the league, tied for second in the MLS Golden Boot standings.
Cyle Larin, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 SuperDraft out of the University of Connecticut, scored his first professional goal to send Orlando City SC on their way to a 2-0 victory at the Portland Timbers on Sunday. The victory snapped a three-game winless slide for OCSC.
Kaká scored his third goal for Orlando City to seal the win in Portland, netting a late penalty kick. Kaká has scored half of City’s goals this season.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Crew to WIN CHRIS’S PREDICTION:OVER 2.5 Goals
FC Dallas suffered a second consecutive defeat on Friday evening and their first this season at Toyota Stadium, falling 4-0 to the Colorado Rapids.
Toronto FC return to action after a weekend off, their losing streak extended to three games in their last match, a 3-2 defeat at the Chicago Fire on April 4. The FC Dallas match will be the fifth in the seven-game road swing to start the season for TFC, while BMO Field is being renovated.
In league play, FC Dallas have not lost to Toronto FC since 2007 – the first meeting ever between the clubs. FCD has won seven of the 12 regular-season encounters since, with five draws, including a 5-0-2 record all-time in Frisco.
The FC Dallas victory last April 19 at Toyota Stadium was the first win by either team in the series since July 20, 2011, when FCD won 1-0 at BMO Field.

The Rapids broke out in a big way for their first victory Friday, a 4-0 win at FC Dallas. It was the Rapids’ first goal of the season, ending a 362-minute scoreless streak to start the season, the second-longest in MLS history. It was the first Colorado goal since last October 11, their first in league play in more than 10 hours of action.
The victory also put an end to the Rapids’ MLS-record winless streak of18 games, which equaled the league mark set by Real Salt Lake in 2005-06.
Sounders FC went down to their second defeat of the season, falling1-0 at the LA Galaxy on Sunday evening. They still have yet to score a goal away from CenturyLink Field this season.
Sounders FC won all three meetings between the teams a year ago, including a pair of 4-1 victories, one on April 26 at CenturyLink Field, and one Oct. 5 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Real remain one of two teams still undefeated in MLS this season, now with a 2-0-3 record following a scoreless draw at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. RSL has recorded back-to-back shutouts and has not conceded a goal away from Rio Tinto Stadium in three games this season.
Whitecaps FC saw their five-game undefeated streak come to an end in a 1-0 defeat at the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday evening. It was the first game this year where Vancouver was shut out; it was also the first goal they had allowed on the road this season.
Whitecaps FC defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 in the final meeting between the teams a year ago, Sept. 27 at BC Place, their first win in the series since Aug. 11, 2012. Real had won two of the six meetings in between, with four draws.
Whitecaps FC have never won at Rio Tinto Stadium; Real have won three of their six home matches in the series, with three draws. The only victory by a road team in the all-time series came in 2013, a 1-0 Real victory at BC Place.
Goalkeeper Jaime Penedo recorded 10 saves – tied for second-most in a single game in LA Galaxy history – backstopping the 1-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday evening which snapped a two-game losing streak and a four-game winless run. The Galaxy club record is 11 saves, recorded by Kevin Hartman in the 2003 season.
Sporting extended their undefeated run to four games with their third shutout of the season, a scoreless draw with Real Salt Lake on Saturday evening in Kansas City.
Sporting won 2-1 last year at Sporting Park on July 19 in the only meeting between the teams; the Galaxy won 2-0 in 2013 in Carson in the only meeting between the teams that season.
The Galaxy have not in Kansas City since 2007; Sporting have won three of their six home games since, with three draws. Sporting’s last win against the Galaxy in Carson came in 2010; the Galaxy have won their last two home meetings with KC.
