MLS Week 9 Picks and Predictions

Not a great weekend in my MLS Predictions, but there is hope on some recovery on Sunday games. LA Galaxy one more goal has not been scored, and Darlington Nagbe not converted penalty cost damage to my stats.

My Sporting and Sounders wins are both PREMIUM PICKS for this Sunday.

Current Week 9 record 911 (accuracy 45.00 % )
Last Week 8 record 711 (accuracy 38.89 % )
2015 season record 8081 (accuracy 49.69 % )
2015 Season PREMIUM PICKS 1915 (accuracy 55.88 %)
2014 MLS Predictions record 318345 (accuracy 47.96 % )

Picks and predictions are usually published here at least one hour before the game time, but please be aware that sometimes based on last minute pre game developments we might change our prediction.

Sunday, May 3
Sporting KC team has been playing well in recent weeks, but did not get the results they want it. Winless in last three games Sporting will be ready for visiting Fire, team that won their last three matches.

I’m little worry about officiating in this game, referee Jose Carlos Rivero might have problems, but other than that, I have high level of confidence in Sporting.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Sporting to WIN*
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: OVER 2.5 Goals*

Despite concerns how Sounders will operate on small, narrow pitch at Yankee Stadium, they still big time favorites to win.
NYCFC team is not in form, they lost 4 out of 6 last games, and they facing well rested title contender. The only consistency in NYCFC performance was, that in their last eight matches, only one ended with more than 2 goals total.
However I have feeling that this should productive Sunday in terms of goals at Yankee Stadium. Technically gifted Sounders top players Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins should have good time on small field, and NYCFC defense will have hard time with them entire evening.

CHRIS’S PREDICTION: SOUNDERS to WIN*
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: OVER 2.5 Goals

Friday, May 1
HOUSTON DYNAMO vs FC DALLAS 1-4

The clubs play for “El Capitán”, the 19th-century Mountain Howitzer cannon to be awarded to the winner of the season series by supporters groups for both clubs. This will be first year since 2011 the series will include more than one meeting during the regular season, with both clubs now in the Western Conference.

FC Dallas have won the last two meetings between the teams over the last two seasons, winning 4-1 on April 5 of last year at BBVA Compass Stadium. It was just the second win all-time for FCD in Houston in 13 meetings in all competitions, the first since 2010.

I have confidence in goals in this match, 2-2 score is very possible, but offense is much better on FC Dallas side, and I believe they will score one more.
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: FC Dallas to WIN
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: OVER 2.5 Goals*

REAL SALT LAKE vs SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 1-1

The Quakes already managed to lost once this year to Real Salt Lake team, after wonder strike by Jaview Morales. RSL however has been demolished last week in New England 0-4, the defeat was the biggest for RSL since a 4-0 loss at Seattle Sounders last May 31, and I don’t believe is such quick recovery from it.

That’s why I think with nothing to loose attitude Quakes, really have shot in Utah. The Quakes not always bring the results from there, but most of the time feeling very comfortable at Rio Tinto Stadium.

My pick maybe is little too optimistic, but I’m Earthquakes fan, and I don’t see them loosing this Friday.

CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Earthquakes to WIN
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: OVER 2.5 Goals*

Wednesday, April 29
NEW YORK RED BULLS vs COLORADO RAPIDS 1-1
CHRIS’S PREDICTION: Red Bulls to WIN
