UPDATE CHICAGO (Aug. 29, 2011) — U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added Chris Pontius and Jonathan Spector to the roster for the match against Costa Rica on Sept. 2 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd and Chivas USA defender Heath Pearce have withdrawn due to injury. Additionally, Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey will remain in London to receive treatment for back spasms. Dempsey will join the team in Brussels on Sunday in advance of the match against Belgium on Sept. 6 at King Badouin Stadium.

UPDATE UPDATE July 10, 2011 – Experienced Scotland International Darren Fletcher will not travel with the rest of the first team squad to the US for their pre-season tour. The 27 year old midfielder was struck down by a virus in early March and lost a lot of weight as a result. Fitness staff at the club have decided that Fletcher would be best served staying in Manchester and working on his fitness and conditioning, rather than embarking on the U.S. Tour.
The Red Devils depart for the USon Monday July 11th and they have announced their initial 21 man squad.
UPDATE- July 5, 2011 – City confirmed the signing of Gael Clichy after almost a week of speculation. The Frenchman has signed a four year deal on a salary believed to be £90,000 a week ($144,000). He has been quick to make an impression with fans of his new club, repeating the claim that those fans living within Manchester support City (rather than arch rivals United). He also stated his aims for winning trophies, saying “anything is possible here”.
