The draw for Asia’s first and second round qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ was made at Asian Football Confederation at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur. In Round 1, the 16 lowest-ranked teams will compete in home-and-away ties on 29 June and 3 July 2011. The winners of these series will then proceed to a second round. FIFA decided on the slots for the 2014 World Cup – Canada will host 2015 Women’s World Cup

The committee decided on the slots for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, which will be as follows: AFC 4.5, CAF 5.0, CONCACAF 3.5, CONMEBOL 4.5, OFC 0.5, UEFA 13.0 and one slot the host Brazil. This is the same distribution of slots as for the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups™. For the play-offs relating to the half slots, a draw will determine how the four confederations involved (AFC, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and OFC) will pair off.
