USMNT Travels with 20 Players to Brussels for Belgium vs USA match

CHICAGO (Sept. 3, 2011) — U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann will bring 20 players to Brussels for his first match in Europe in charge of the U.S. team, facing Belgium on Sept. 6 in an international friendly. Kickoff from King Baudouin Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN and ESPN3.com.

Scottish Premier League club Glasgow Rangers have signed USA defender Carlos Bocanegra on a three-year deal.
Ally McCoist’s recruitment drive has gathered pace over the last few days and former Fulham full-back Bocanegra, 32, is the latest to arrive at Ibrox.
Bocanegra, who joins from French side Saint-Etienne, could play in tomorrow’s UEFA Europa League play-off against Maribor should he receive international clearance.

USMNT – Jurgen Klinsmann Calls In 22 Players for USA vs Mexico on Aug. 10 in Philadelphia

CHICAGO (Aug. 4, 2011) — U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has named a 22-player roster that will travel to Philadelphia in advance of the match against regional rival Mexico on Aug. 10 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The match will be the first for the former FIFA World Cup and European Championship winner at the helm of the U.S. Men’s National Team since being named head coach.

Asia’s first and second round qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

The draw for Asia’s first and second round qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ was made at Asian Football Confederation at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.
In Round 1, the 16 lowest-ranked teams will compete in home-and-away ties on 29 June and 3 July 2011. The winners of these series will then proceed to a second round.
The eight winners will progress to join another 22 sides in Round 2, where 15 two-legged ties will be held on 23 and 28 July.

CHICAGO (July 30, 2011) — The U.S. Men’s National Team was drawn into Group A of CONCACAF’s Semifinal Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying during the Preliminary Draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup that took place Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The U.S., led by new head coach Juergen Klinsmann, will begin its quest to qualify for a seventh-consecutive FIFA World Cup when Semifinal Round play in CONCACAF begins in June of 2012.

CHICAGO (July 29, 2011) — U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati named Jürgen Klinsmann as head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team today, making him the 35th coach in the history of the program.
“We are excited to have Jürgen as the head coach of our Men’s National Team,” said Gulati. “He is a highly accomplished player and coach with the experience and knowledge to advance the program. Jürgen has had success in many different areas of the game and we look forward to the leadership he will provide on and off the field.”

USMNT – Jozy Altidore signed four-year deal with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar

AZ Alkmaar have confirmed the signing of USA striker Jozy Altidore from Villarreal. The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Eredivisie side, who become the sixth club of his career.
“For me it’s about the environment,” Altidore told the Boston Herald. “It’s really essential. I think I’m at the age where I have a lot of experience now, I’ve played in a lot of places, I’ve played against top competition around the world.
