It changed my life,” said the self-styled showman, who, with his flowing locks and rock-star beard, epitomised the carefree attitude of a spirited side that held its own against the world’s best, despite the USA’s lack of a professional domestic league. MLS Weekend Preview, Picks and Predictions

With his two goals Saturday against the New England Revolution, Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes pulled into a tie for the lead in the Budweiser MLS Golden Boot standings with 14 goals, along with Dwayne De Rosario of D.C. United and Thierry Henry of the New York Red Bulls. Wondolowski has scored six goals in the last seven games, and this is the second consecutive season he has made a late charge. A year ago, he scored 10 goals over the final eight games of the season to win the Golden Boot, finishing with 18 goals. No player in MLS history has won the goalscoring title outright in back-to-back seasons; in 2003, Carlos Ruiz tied for the overall lead with Taylor Twellman after winning the honor in 2002, and Stern John finished in a three-way tie in 1999 after scoring the most goals in 1998. MLS Week 24 Preview, Picks and Predictions

MLS Week 24 Preview, Picks and Predictions

The best game we should have at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, where Sounders hosting Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew. Will Robert Warzycha as Crew head coach finally beat team managed by his former boss Sigi Schmid? Another former assistant and now Chivas USA head coach Robin Frasier will also coach against his friend and former boss Jason Kreis RSL manager. Expect few goals in Toronto where TFC will try to extend Earthquakes winless series to 13 games. Whitecaps taking on Dynamo in Vancouver also should provide us some action and goals. We should also have good games in Chicago Fire vs. Rapids and one of my favorite to watch in Kansas City, Sporting vs. FC Dallas. Read More »
