MLS – Brandon McDonald signed new multiyear contract with D.C. United

Washington, D.C. (August 23, 2011) - D.C. United announced today the club has signed defender Brandon McDonald to a new contract. Since being acquired from the San Jose Earthquakes for allocation money on June 27, the central defender has become a crucial part of United’s defensive success. McDonald has played in nine matches since joining United, starting each of those contests. In that span, the 25-year-old has helped the club to a 3-2-4 record, including four shutout performances. SANTA CLARA, California – The San Jose Earthquakes lost for the first time in the club’s last seven games at home, dropping a 2-0 result against D.C. United in front of a sold out crowd of 10,525 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Former San Jose striker Dwayne De Rosario scored both goals for D.C.
